Casual & Scruffy

This young man walks the SoHo streets casually. He has a simple outfit that works very well for the downtown scene. His straight leg jeans, with a few rips, are cuffed, showing off his black military boots. A simple white, scoop neck t-shirt is a crisp, yet casual item. The faded brown cardigan helps continue the laid-back motif, and helps to keep him warm. The straw trilby hat is a nice finishing touch.

My New Favorite Blazer

This guy has a great sense of style. His Carolyn Massey two toned blazer is awesome. The top two-thirds of the blazer is a grey herringbone, but the bottom third has been dyed blue. His deep v cardigan leaves room for his white polo collar, which matches the pattern on the cardigan. His straight leg blue jeans are cuffed at the bottom, showing off his worn brown leather boots.

Smart Looking, Smart Casual

Smart Casual is a great style both for the office and on the streets. This young man pairs a tan plaid sport coat with creased, slim fitting, grey slacks. The brown side buckle shoes are an accent, as well as a compliment to the sport coat.

The pink, french cuff, cutaway collar shirt is a great accent. The pink color is bright and noticeable, but ties in well with the tan sport coat. The navy blue tie, with a windsor knot, narrows the neck and draws a powerful line down the center of the chest.

A little Detail Goes A Long Way

It is amazing how something as small as a pocket square can help tie together an entire outfit. Just take a look at this man.

Dockside Or Desk-Side

This is a great example of casual dress attire. This gentleman sports a straw trilby hat tilted back on his head, and a navy, deep v cardigan over a lightly checked, white shirt. His pants are straight leg khakis, complimented by a charcoal pair of docksiders.

The red pinstripes on the trim of his cardigan are a great detail. He does a great job carrying the navy throughout the outfit, on his hat band, tie and cardigan. The rolled up sleeves with the shirt cuffs out is definitely a nice touch.

The Learned Cowboy Of Bryant Park

An urban cowboy catches up on his reading, while taking lunch in Bryant Park.

He added a thick, contrasting cuff to the bottom of his jeans, adding a nice detail, and exposing his rugged cowboy boots.

The different colors of denim create a distinct separation between the pants and jacket, making the outfit more independent and appealing.

The white button down, gives a crisp background for the tie to stand out from. Notice that the tie has blue in its design, helping to marry it to the rest of the ensemble.

Changing The Way We Think About Shorts Forever

Shorts have a reputation for being leisurely and informal. This gentleman shows us that you can, indeed, dress up a pair of shorts, while remaining cool and comfortable. His purple Bermuda length shorts are crisp and neat, just like the light blue, short sleeve button down that is tucked into them. A purple belt, with a yellow stripe adds a small, yet noticeable accent. The outfit is finished with an elegant, yet airy, pair of leather sandals. Now who says you can't be refined in a pair of shorts?

Add a slick side part and a pair of aviators and you will breeze through the summer heat.

Strut To Your Own Beat, Part 2

Pink is a true spring color. It does wonders lightening up a grey plaid suit.

Taking Advantage Of The Heat Wave

Today, April 16th, was a superb day for capturing the streets. The temperature in New York City reached above 80 degrees, giving everyone the green light for summer clothes. Everyone, who had bought spring and summer clothes over the last month, has been waiting for a day like today to flaunt their best outfits, and we saw a lot of great ones.

This man looks as though he just stepped off the beach in Key West. His white linen pants and pale yellow button-down shirt are designed to take advantage of the cool breeze. The pale yellow fedora, with a white hat band, really pulls the outfit together. This was definitely planned ahead of time.

Stylin’ On The Phone

A contrast collar is a great way to break up an all black outfit.

The trilby hat has become very popular these days. An accessory for any outfit or gender.
