Neutral Retro Style

While there is nothing that pops out about this outfit, it is one of, if not the best, period piece outfits I have seen. The light brown, pleated pants stay above the wedge espadrilles of a similar color, and have a very refined, yet somewhat casual appearance. The beige button up blouse is another neutral item, and goes extremely well with the pleated pants. The buttoning of the top button creates a 1960’s feel, especially when paired with the ivory, horn rimmed sunglasses.

Blue & White Just Looks Right

This is a celebrity worthy outfit. The tight blue romper has a great color and its pleated neckline looks outstanding. The sleeveless cut and short shorts make this blue number perfect for the Spring and Summer months. This young lady also accessorizes in style. All of her accessories are white including the Chanel tote, multi-strap heels and even her iPhone case. Blue and white compliment each other extremely well, and look crisp and clean together.

Three Fashionable Friends

I spotted this group of fashionable friends near Lafayette St. While I don’t know what they were talking about, their interactions seemed fun and heartfelt. They each have their own style, and it was a great treat to capture three great subjects walking side-by-side.

The guy on the right (your right) has a very casual look about him; very care free.  He wears a denim cutoff shirt, showing off his toned arms. His rust colored jeans are worn off his waist, causing them to bunch up atop the beige shoes, which remain untied.
The young lady in the center of the group has a flirty look. Her black shorts and tank have a fun look to them, which is perfect for Spring. The red blazer adds a great bold color to the outfit, and also dresses it up. A great Spring outfit for a lunch date.

The girl on the left has a very versatile outfit. This outfit can be worn to just about any type of setting, short of formal. The semi-sheer white blouse is sleeveless, allowing for comfort in the hot sun. The blouse is knotted at the waist where leaving the pleated waist of the pants visible. The wide leg is very airy and relaxed when paired with a weaved sandal. To make this outfit more formal, simply add a blazer on top.

Mark Twain Doppelganger

This post is not as much about fashion as it is about character. While I do really like the white ruffled shirt, bow tie and cumber bun combination, it is this man’s character and style that dominate the images. He looks like a writer, which could be the reason why I associated him with Mark Twain or maybe just because he looks like him. His worn leather bag looks like it could be holding a manuscript for the next great American novel.  I do also like how the the beige jacket (occupy button on lapel, and all) stands away from the white shirt creating a little contrast in the outfit.

Young, Youthful & Lucky

It was a great Spring weekend in New York, and this young lady took full advantage of it. Her strapless Betsey Johnson dress, is adorned with small drawings of lucky charms. The dress has a fun, youthful cut, which is perfect for the upcoming Memorial Day Weekend. She paired the dress with black wingtip flats, creating a retro look. The simple gold necklace and charm is the perfect accessory to dress up the neckline without taking away from the dress. The two Mini Mouse style buns are very youthful and add to the fun look of the outfit.

Silhouetting In A Sheer Skirt

This is a fun outfit for this Spring. The colors are light and the fabrics are thin, allowing you to feel comfortable in the heat of the Spring Sun. The loose fitting, white v-neck tee from Juicy Couture, has a fun graphic that transitions from light blue to soft pink. Below the shirt’s pink bottom is a canary yellow, ankle length maxi skirt. The semi-sheer fabric allows your natural silhouette to show through, which looks fun and flirty, as well as comfortable. The ballerina flats on her feet add to the airy feel and look great with the yellow skirt just above them.

Cèline Tote: Happy, Sad Or What?

This young lady wears a relaxed outfit with style. Her navy and white striped shirt hangs off her left shoulder, showing the strap of a white tank. She has on a pair of black, faux leather leggings, which have a nice sheen to them. They are tucked into a pair of black, heeled boots, adorned with a buckled cuff on the top. The Céline tote in black and cream is a new “it” accessory, and its awkward smile adds a little character to the outfit.

Derby Worthy Sun Hat

A simple outfit done well. This young woman wears a pair of charcoal skinny jeans, bloused over the top of black wedge boots. Her white v-neck shirt is a very thin cotton, allowing her to take full advantage of the breeze on a hot spring day. Atop the white tee is a contrasting black vest with a brown, floral pattern, backing. The vest, along with the floppy-brimmed sun hat with a crocheted top, add a nice style to an otherwise ordinary outfit.

The Urban Surfer

There are so many styles out on the streets of New York, this is just one of them: the “Urban Surfer.” This young man sports a coastal look with DC high tops, black skinny jeans, a turquoise Volcom tank, a messanger bag and large quare framed sunglasses. The high and tight haircut is a little contradictory to the outfit, but does not look half bad.

TREND ALERT: Harem Pants & Sandals This Spring

Harem pants are all over the place right now. Originating in India more than 2,000 years ago, these loose fitting pants have become a very popular item on the streets of New York City. The loose fitting fabric allows for breathabilitly on those hot days in the Concrete Jungle. This young woman wears a bright pair of pink, extremely baggy harem pants with a simple white tank top. On her feet she wears brown leather, gladiator style sandals, which go really well with the tapered bottoms of the harem pants. It is an effortless look, but looks great.

This young lady has paired her black harem pants with a sleeveless graphic tee, creating a Rock n’ Roll chic look. The black leather, fringed bag goes well with the overall color and style of the outfit, as do the black Chanel, T-strap sandals.

This woman wears her black harem pants with gold toe loop sandals. tucked into the pant waist is a sheer blue blouse with white polka dots. Around her neck the small scarf adds spring colors to the outfit.
